Still part of the Basic package according to the website.  Always has been.

I stand corrected.

To be able to select channels I want to watch and pay for just those. i.e. 3/4 of the channels in the basic package for us are a waste of time.

ESPN HD

Nature and documentary channels in HD.

Rugby Channel in HD

More channels.

and the biggest one; being able to break down channels into more packages, I dont give a crap about the kiddie channels but still pay for it, woot.

I have heard from a reliable source within Sky that we will get ESPN HD 'this year'. It seems to back up Tony O'Brien's statement earlier posted here.

Rugby Channel HD would be nice.

I have lots of stuff for a wish list, but most of it is just wishful thinking..... knowing Sky none of it will happen. Most of it involves picking up more sports rights.

Couldn't give a toss about a sci-fi channel personally.

Agree also with the "let me customise and pay for a package of programs I watch".
I don't want to subsidize those with poor parental skills who use nickelodeon as a form of baby sitter.

They do this with sport, charge those extra who want to watch sport. do the same with the lot put them all in little baskets

e.g. sport, kids, family, docos, general (food channel etc), youth (mtv, comedy central), foreign. Would provide a much better package as well and pricing.

Also sky will see they are paying for content people dont want. so what you have 500 channels if 450 of them suck and no one watches them , then you're paying for un-required licenses.

They are paying tvnz per customer for that crap called heartland. That really annoys me since I dont want to see that junk but if I get sky, tvnz are getting paid if I watch it or not.

old3eyes: But I don't think you will see a SyFy channel anytime soon considering that TV3 just dumped "The Event" to a late nite dead spot next  week  before it finished.  NZ networks don't see ScFi fans as worthwhile viewers..

Just read this tonight at 10:54pm and wondered if MySky would pick up the time change, checked, and it hadnt, saw on the TV3 website it's actually starting at 10:55pm, the 2 hour final!

So thanks heaps to old3eyes and Geekzone for the serendipity of me reading this at the right time to not miss the recording.

And NO THANKS to Sky for changing the time, and doing it so mysky then would have missed recording it!

Please explain how Sky had any responsibility about TV3 Schedule?

Couldn't agree more!

Also agree with other posts - I object to paying for content that I have absolutely no interest in, and would very much prefer quality over quantity - less channels, better content, more HD.  As per previous threads, I'd also like to see any show that features any of the following words in their title relegated to a new channel called "Crap TV" :  "Biggest, worst, dumbest, funniest, shark, ....."

Ha! Yes sorry DS9 you are quite right in calling me out, I was thinking of Prime being owned by Sky, of course TV3 isnt so it's nothing to do with them. Sorry.

old3eyes, MySkyHD normally does handle a schedule change OK, not sure why this "event" was different, I cant recall but maybe it wasnt on last week due to holidays so that confused it?

Finally, to make a comment related to what this thread is supposed to be about, we would love to be able to increase the hard drive space, either by a box upgrade or plug in external. There are different people in our house with different tastes (including kids), so while individually we dont watch a lot of TV, together there's a lot we record so always closely monitoring the space available. This is especially a problem when we go away on holiday, usually have to have a binge TV watching session beforehand to clear up enough space to record things while we're away.
