Lightbox: Thanks.

I am not intimately familiar with Fritz Box, but is there some sort of built in firewall etc. that might be blocking some traffic? If so, maybe you could try turning it off to see if that's what's causing the issue.

I don't think there is a firewall blocking anything, I have UPNP enabled so that the PS4 can open the required ports automatically. I have contacted Sony but I wont get a reply for a few days, they probably wont be much help.

I'm going out now but when I get home I will try download quickflix and see if I'm blocked on that.

UPNP not always robust in my experience. If you want to eliminate the firewall fully, turn it off (briefly of course), or at least put the IP address of the affected device (in this case your ps4) into the demilitarised zone (DMZ) presuming your router set up allows such.

Yeah, I'd definitely try turning it off (briefly) to see if that's where the issue is (or at least rule it out).

I did some Googling and it seems the Fritz doesn't have a DMZ but I can make my PS4 an exposed host, so I did that and all ports are open but I still can't access Lightbox.

We do adaptive streaming, up to 1080p where available and doable in terms of connection speeds.

Yeah, if you've got the connection speed for it, we'll pump our max bitrate and resolution into your PS3.

So new-used Playstaton 3 arrived today.

First thing to do - load up Lightbox.

It's fantastic! Quick to load and the image quality I think is equivalent or superior to what I get over air!

I'm a believer - extend the range of programming to take over some of the older shows (Newsroom) on Soho and I'm in for good..!

Well done Lightbox - simply brilliant looking on PS3.

Cheers, glad you like it.

No "Newsroom" on our platform (it's HBO and thus exclusive to another provider), but if you like political shows, I'd suggest looking at Boss, House of Cards or Battlestar Galactica (sci-fi, but plenty of politicking going on)...

Update on getting geo-blocked when using the lightbox app.

The PS4 got a firmware update yesterday that allows you to do a full system back up onto an external HDD so I thought I would give that a try. I backed up the whole system, reset my PS4, and then I restored the back up. This whole process took about 12 hours but it paid off because now I'm no longer being geo-blocked.
