I have been using Lightbox from the start and unless they stop doing exclusives on what you can watch on then I will be changing to Netflix when it arrives. I don't care if it free for 12 months or not. I own a Panasonic TV, Xbox one and 360, WD TV. Im not going to go out and buy new stuff just to watch Lightbox. They need to get their act together before Netflix arrives.

I have been using lightbox for quite some time now, I quite like it so far.

Netflix is coming here in March that is true, but I'm not so sure if it will have the same amount of content as the US version, I don't trust them not to do that but I'd love to be proven wrong. lol.

This is awesome, thanks lightbox!!!!!!

PS - Any chance of some star trek coming on? Original/ds9/voyager/Enterprise etc would be awesome!

steve98: Interesting move by Spark, but not convinced it will shield them from the Netflix threat. If I've got $15 per month to spend on entertainment and I choose to spend it on Lightbox, I probably won't consider also taking up Netflix as a secondary offer. But if Lightbox is free, I won't think twice about also signing up to Netflix. Does this help Lightbox win?

I work for Spark but not Lightbox, disclosure.

Netflix does movies, Lightbox does TV series, I don't see they are competing. What am I missing? The competition as I see it is Lightbox and Netflix competing with Sky, which does movies and TV.

dclegg:
wasabi2k: lightbox seems to have a few of the decent amazon series and kids stuff not on netflix (Dora) - so that suits me for $0.

No Roku app though - so will get SFA play time.

Wife may be interested in the kiwi stuff - but laptop viewing is about 5% of our viewing time.

1) Get the wife and kids addicted to it on the laptop.
2) Keep moaning about what a PITA it is to watch TV on it.
3) Talk her into buying a PS4, so you can watch it on that
4) ...
5) Profit!

Lol. " I don't want a PS4 for games though, honey"

Fantastic. Love to give it a go.

I already have a decent data package, decent speed internet infrastructure wired to the bedroom and the living room, good TVs in both rooms, and good HD-capable media players connected to them and connected to the internet. If its an enjoyable service with good content I will then subscribe at the end of the trial. Now all I have to do is install the app on my WD live and I'm good to go ......... oh (expletive)..........

Sadly, a no-go I'm afraid.

Funnily enough, at the moment I use my PS4 for Lightbox maybe 90% of the time and gaming/music the other 10%.  I'm a big gamer and never thought that would happen.  I'm watching Dexter and 24 and it's a lot of TV to get through. Will get back to GTA4 eventually...I guess.

Netflix does TV series - they release entire seasons. They have movies as well but these aren't fresh.

Hulu does TV series - they release episodes soon after these show on US TV. Their movies are very low quality.

Amazon Instant Video and iTunes do both TV series and latest releases.

I have mix of services because some overlap, some don't.

Sadly, there's an awful lot of "kiddie" moaning going on in this thread.

I've got them all, but good move by Lightbox - I might just check you out now.

I agree. I am not a Spark customer but if I had an option this would be a brilliant opportunity.

I think it's a good move, get the masses with a free option, many will try it some will stay after they are in tune with the means to use it.

For those with non compliant hardware, an easy and cheap fix is a Sammy DVD or BR player, circa 100 bucks.
