they will show Sky or ESPN ads. The companies only pay for it to be shown on the US audience. All can be seen online though after the game

Well, the Super Bowl was AMAZING in HD today. Colours so vibrant, everything looks awesome.
NFL is again the best HD content around

What was with The Who though? Seemed the audio/video was out of sync for most of it... It was the same on ESPN.

glad someone else noticed, and it wasn't just slightly out  ,but when i saw it on the news it was fine , it must have been CBS, who are really nervous after Janet Jackson, who set the live delay  a bit much.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

It seems the international feed was just screwed, as theres no reports online about it. The replay on ESPN was fine though. But if you watch the replay when the announcer at the ground says "welcome to the half time show" about a secnd later the same audio came on but was directly feeded for the TV.

So i guess they delayed the audio but forgot to delay the video. they sorted it in the last song though

the one from Sky Sport 2 was hopelessly out of sync right until the last song.

And booo again to Sky for their rubbish 2 channel sound. 5.1 would have been so much better.

Yeah the SS2 was exactly the ESPN feed, just in HD so both were out.
Wasn't sky's fault though. 5.1 would have taken huge bandwidth though. the game took 18% of my My Sky haha

But yeah, even their own recorded rugby games aren't 5.1. Only cricket is

all NZ HD rugby has got 5.1 channel sound.

Audio bandwidth is nothing, it's so trivial.  Probably about 0.5 megabits or so, and the video is probably 10-12 from memory.   Surely it can't be bandwidth.

If you've ever watched American sport in 5.1, you know what you're missing.  If you ever see those 'crank it up' sections in the NASCAR races, they sound so much better.

well done and thanks to sky
the super bowl looked awesome, was very happy to see it come up on SS2 in HD
would love to see the "world series" and the NBA finals in HD now (we had the hockey)
I would happily pay extra for ESPNHD as I am a true sports
maybe my constant emails and requests to sky helped

I totaly agree
A big thanks to sky for letting us see super bowl in HD
The experience is so completely different than watching it in blurred pixelated hell that is ESPN SD
A mate has started to down load HD basketball games from the states, granted they a week old but the clarity is worth the wait as you get to "see" so so much more
But this really sums up Sky's attitude to quantity over quality http://www.screenscribe.tv/hdt.../
