Apparantly the offer only goes to houses which have had a working install recently enough that the dish should still work.

I just got MYSKY+ with basic package $25 setup for $33 a month for 12 months added a 2nd decoder for $25 so thats only $57/month which i thought was cheap enough. I just told the lady on the phone I wanted the half price deal for 12 months and she did it for me. Was pretty easy.

Found a guy who was mentioned on the TradeMe forums.
South Island region but managed to sign me up in Wellington.
Half price for both basic package and mysky+ decoder for a year.

Following on form last post - http://www.trademe.co.nz/Community/MessageBoard/Messages.aspx?id=805540&topic=23  and this http://lifeboat.forumotion.co.nz/t180-half-price-sky-tv

I called the number quoted  - it goes through to skys telemarketers - she asked me how I got the number out of interest, I said it was on Trade Me, and that was it, not further explaining needed ( they must get a commission on each sign up so I dont think they are going to give you a hard time)

I got 1/2 price sky basic with MYSKY +  - 12mth min contract (half price for first 12mths so why would you), $25 joining fee, free install and options to turn on and off sport or movies monthly when I want.

Awesome deal. I am stoked - and its a big birdie to the girl I called up on the regular 0800 number and tried to get the same deal.

Thats not the deal I got, it was free install, $25 for the mysky install and half price for a year, which is how long the contract is. They dont take the halfprice into account for the early buy out, but why would you really? $30something a month for mysky and basic is a good deal. Fullprice, not so much a good deal ;)

In case anyone is wondering the code: 6800 is still valid and you can get free install and half price basic package for 12 months.
Friend in Auckland got the flyer in the mail and it says it is valid until 30th September.

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

Does one just mention the code over the phone when speaking with sky?

....just call 0800 112 396 - it goes through to the SKY telemarketers who can offer this deal and you don't need a code.

Me too. I'm paying an extra $5.80 for the rugby and the dude told me I could cancel the rugby after a month but really why would you??

This honestly should be the base price anyway. Sure you get a few extra channels, but essentially you're getting the freeview equivalent and every user is likely to add an additional package to this. I don't mind paying $50 all up a month, but honestly, $50 a month just to get off the ground, with sport still another $25 or whatever on top of that is getting ridiculous.

Common sense is not as common as you think.
