Sphyre: greedy sky insiders getting the hd feed in time to watch the champions league final while the rest of us don't :/

does the feed have the same aliasing shown in the clips on the crowd goes wild?

Nah, I'm pretty sure that's an SD feed anyway.
The HD looks pretty sexy.
Plus all the content is probably sourced in HD so it should be an actual fully built HD channel for once.

Widescreen: check
HD: check

Now they've just gotta get rid of the awful football commentators on the Champions League and La Liga.

Can anyone confirm if this is officially available yet?  ie. showing in channel bouquet on myskybox and able to be viewed?  Im getting this on my vu+duo with skycard in slot, but its not full HD, if I go into service info on the vu+duo it shows as 1280x720p50.  Skysport1 is full HD at 1920x1080i25.

Why? Sports looks better in 720p than 1080i.

Never understood the 720p vs 1080i debate, 1080i has more pixels, and a higher bit rate plus the TV deinterlaces the image anyway.

What? Of course it does. However deinterlacing negatively effects IQ particularly during motion... of which there's a lot in sports :)
