f1guy: Hi,
I think the commentary was okay although I would prefer to hear Martin Brundle. I think Sky should offer both commentaries
which should be selectable from the language option. I guess maybe they would have to pay for the Sky sports commentary whereas maybe the BBC is included in their rights package.

A bit annoying not to have the same audio feed, since it's Sky UK who generate the video feed for FOM. If only Sky UK and Sky NZ were from the same group... OH WAIT ¬¬

I am at a motel due to EQC repairs, so no Sky 3 TV coverage there. I went home and downloaded the FP1 and Qualy, which is the Sky F1 HD coverage, is that illegal?? Watched the Sky 2 on motel TV, dispapointed that no Crofty, Brundle, etc so I'm looking at downloading the Sky coverage that I already pay for
allstarnz: some incorrect info here.
Last year Sky NZ took 5 Live Radio commentary for free practice, so nothing has changed
Also, FOM has its own stand alone filming capacity, F1 hasn't used host broadcaster equipment for many many years. All of it is owned by Bernie (well, so to speak). The broadcasters then produce their own commentary or source it off another channel (e.g. Sky NZ has an agreement with the BBC). Why would Sky automatically buy the commentary off Sky UK, they are not actually all that connected, other than by name.

Talkiet:
Sky NZ can do what they want - however what they are doing is providing a second rate coverage option.

P1n3apqlExpr3ss: So how is everyone going to watch quali tonight?

Talkiet: Well... I just cancelled My Sky sports + HD ticket based on Sky pre-empting the LIVE F1 QUALIFYING in China for TWO CHANNELS of REPLAYS....
They obviously don't care about motorsport fans so I'll consume other forms of media to watch F1. Stuff them.

I was incredibly disappointed about what they did there. I was all eager to watch the qualifying and realised that they where showing rugby replays... Now I appreciate that Rubgy is the national sport here and if they where live games I could understand it but replays? The day consists of endless replays normally so they could have done it at another time!
