So how is FanPass these days? Sadly my Sky subscription ends this Friday, 14th. I want to watch the Kiwis/Kangaroos on Saturday, just wondering if FanPass is still the best (Or Only?) option of watching it. Don't mind paying obviously, but what's the general consensus regarding quality, buffering etc.

From memory when I last used it 6-7 months ago, it was pretty stable streaming via Chromecast.

Read the last few pages here. My summary is that it looks good, and it covers a good range of highlights as well. 

But I find the quality variable. From pretty darn good, as in close to Skybox, to pretty darn average, as in judder. I can't pick a reason, as it can be on any sport, so I cant say that these sports are great, these ones are ok, and these ones are meh. Im considering going back to Sky for these reasons, and I cannot record Fanpass. While I might prefer to watch the AB's live, many sports I watch are at bad times. 

I dont recall any buffering issues, but there is an issue with the feed freezing, that requires a hop back to the menu and hop back in. Other feeds are ok, so that must be reading to that one feed at that time. Not sure why

Popups dont work, you need to use a PC/Mac.

For me, the principle is great, but no popups in the app, no recording, (I have a 64GB ATV4). I can live with any bugs as they will be fixed. But the killer for me is the variability of some feeds. Judder is something you can put up with in most movies, albeit annoying, but there can be a lot of fast action in sone sports (darts less so :-)   that reduces the experience a lot.

What does no stream available mean? Everything else works

What does playing MOTOGP now mean? The key word being now

Otagolad: Any update Seymour? Big weekend of sport coming up and don't really want to have to stream from iPhone/iPad in order to get rid of the now playing words on the screen or the constant crashing.

I watched the SA v NZ game the weekend before last using the ATV4 app, and the Now/Next thing was gone. It did hang once during the first half, but I restarted the stream no problems.

Interesting ... I wonder if I need to delete the app and reinstall as I am running the TVOS beta and have multiple different country accounts on it with NZ not being the prime one - I'll give that a go and see what happens.  Thanks for pointing that out Trig

Otagolad: Thanks Trig - deleting and reinstalling did the trick. Thanks Seymour and Sky for fixing the app - working brilliantly now.

Just signed up for a week as my wife wants to watch the rugby. We also have the annoying "On Now:" text and another skysport logo in the bottom right. Was there any solution to getting rid of this ? I only see some saying it had disappeared for them.

Do I need to delete and reinstall the APTV4 app ?

I thought they fixed that? I watched the game last night and I didn't notice it, not that I looked for it though.

Definitely happened here (ATV4 app). But apart from that, the steam was awesome. HD the whole time, and definitely the best FanPass experience I've had.

I had one lockup, had to back out and go back in, but for a high audience event, yes it was good. Ironically I say that as I am getting Sky back on Tuesday, as Fanpass doesnt cut it for me. Lack of recording and no OD for catchup. I cant watch live sport at all hours of the night.
