That did not work here. Taking Unblockus off of the DNS setup on the iPad did work though. So it is Unblockus that messes up the service.

One option would be to set the unblockus dns on your router at home for only those sites that you need unblockus for - I do this mine on an ASUS RT-AC66U with dd-wrt tomato flashed on it and it works great.  Doesn't work for away from home and you would then need to manually set the dns for it in that situation or, as I do, use a VPN when accessing outside my local network at home.

Thanks Guys I have forwarded onto UnBlockUs and given them this thread to read. Hopefully they come up with something.

And another thing, what's with the "stream concurrency" error messages every 10 mins or so - terrible.

JimmyC: I sent in some feedback from within the SkyGo app relating to how daft the combination of 2 device limit and 30 day change period is. Got an email response that they'd reset my 2 devices. Helpful, but...

It's locked down to one concurrent login per account anyway so why the device the limit? To add the 30 day thing on top is just stupid.

If you don't like it, do complain. Hopefully they'll see some sense.

I feel the reason is loaning out SkyGo logins the way many loaned out iSky logins. If they could find a way to authenticate so they knew only the valid customer can use it, then I expect there would be no device limit or 30 day rule

Easy, limit to two main devices.

When device uses go sky, note ip number.

Then any device can use that ip number that last main device used.

This would allow a mobile one, and home ip. Just if ip number changes, have to use one of registered devices first.

I understand that they don't want people allowing access to friends outside the home the subscription is in, just I feel there must be a better way, then the way they have chosen.

Good ideas, but that removes the 3G option, more or less?

Maybe I am being picky, but I was really hoping that the video quality would be at least as good as a Sky SD broadcast. The TV shows aren't too bad, but any fast moving sports action is clearly inferior, with pixellation and smearing occurring all the time. So while it is watchable, it doesn't come close to the enjoyment that you get from a proper Sky feed into a large screen TV. I have a UFB connection, with the settings on high quality, and it seems the same whether I watch on the iPad via wireless, on on the desktop via ethernet.

I am interested if anyone can tell me the reason for this. Is it simply that 1200 kbps cannot deliver clear sports action, or is there some other technical limitation?

I feel Sky are ultimately fighting a losing battle here anyway. Restrict people too much, legit customers get annoyed and people fall back too other ways of getting the content. Sky are not getting sign-ups from people who can't use Sky Go. They need to be smarter at getting these customers and it may be by offering a cheaper online-only service.

I had a torrid time of it at home in the weekend - trying to watch the A-League football...terrible picture, constant (every 20 min or so) drop-outs and having to decide which two of our possible 8 devices we want to allow access...the iMac (or any desktop device) should be excluded and the limitation be put only on the app, in my opinion.

I have my iPad Mini - my wife would love to have her iPad and then we have the iMac in the front room which serves as a pseudo second telly...

Sky...you are pushing me closer to cancelling my subscription over the stupid decisions you make.

Yup... it's not just the restrictions currently in place that drive me mad, the quality of the stream is totally pants compared with what I used to get with iSky. One small mercy, they canned the Sky Sport ad playing every time you reconnect... 8-10 times an hour was too much to handle.

Didn't want to log in via the iMac as I would then not be able to add another device for 30 days...leaving my wife out in the cold, so to speak...

iPad was just awful quality though.

Credit where credit is due, I was watching the Ashes yesterday afternoon whilst waiting in the car for the wife (standard operating procedure every afternoon), and the quality of the stream on iPhone 5S over Telecom 4G was very, very good indeed. Was most impressed.

I was asked after 5 minutes whether I was still watching which I thought was odd... dunno whether that happens every 5 minutes, wifey turned up early for a change :-)

Odd as I am on an iPad air at the moment, outside, quite a way from my modem, on wifi 2 bars, and it's very good. I find pixelation for a second or more, sometimes 3 or 4 seconds, then all good
