pjamieson: I forced my update over a week ago.

I like (in order):
1) You can record 3 programmes at once.
2) The interface is modern and much better structured, I really like the tabs, much more logical.  I don't have problems viewing it - I think those people just have bad TV's or not using HDMI.
3) Being able to scroll through 7 days while watching.
4) The favourite channels.
5) The folders of recordings (takes a bit of getting used to).

I don't like:
1) There is no longer number a minutes remaining when watching a recording - Just started and finishing time - so you have to sit there working out how long is left.  If you record part way through a programme it's really difficult to work out how long is left.
2) That your choices on the tabs do not stay - eg: I want to be able to always have the guide on Favourites.
3) The lag at certain points (so far I have noted - returning from watching a recording about 2 secs and going to the Box Office tab).
4) People that comment on this Forum that don't have Sky and hate Sky and harass people that have Sky.

Wish List:
1) FTA On Demand incorporated (I know, I know - dreaming).

Overall really good that Sky has done this at no extra cost, even though it will be costing them millions.  Although of course they had to really.

I dislike the new interface. Difficult to read, slow interface, changing channel goes from about 1 second to 3 or 4 seconds.

Sluggish interfaces are the kiss of death for me. Regardless of extra features.

If you search earlier in this thread (or it may be a different Sky thread) you'll find the key combinations to force the upgrade now.

I have tried the key combo - I do the back and select, wait for power light to go purple - then press power, up, down, power  - all it does is after a few moments turns off.

I got it, my timing is just off...doing the bedroom one first to make sure it works before I do the main one in the lounge.

Seems to work if you do the second key combination when the ring lights up for the second time.

Yes I figured that out.  Both mysky units have upgraded and happy with it.

I can't wait for more ondemand content to become available.

And like others wish we could see how much time is remaining on a show.  Kids always ask me how long something has got to go. Useful, if you have been holding on to go to bathroom but want to wait to the end of the show :p - now we have to do math to figure that out :p

I wish Series and Episode numbers were more prominent in the planner.  That would be helpful.

When you're watching something and hit the info button (half height preview rather than pushing it twice for the full info summary) the info panel includes a "program ends at [time]" descripter.  Does that help or hinder?

Not so sure yet.  Depends how long and often you pause a show and then you need to know current time tooo lol (which is there also).  Time remaining was much better info.  We know the units have the ability to show that, so why they removed it is anyones guess.

Does anyone else feel the overall volume of the Myski HDi boxes have reduced after the software update?
I'm finding I have to increase TV volume by 5 steps to get the same volume level prior to the update. I got it set on PCM/MPEG. Dolby Digital is even more lower.

Not noticed it here on mysky+ or one of the new ones, if anything it's a bit louder

yep definitly had to have the volume up about 4-5 presses on the mysky box compared to before the update

Are they both watching via HDMI on FullHD TV's?  Both elements make a huge difference to the fuzziness of the fonts.
Recently upgraded a TV and the legibility improved significantly.
