Might pay to hurry up if.you are keen. who knows what they will do as its basically cheaper than igloo.

Perhaps they will pull it. perhaps not but why risk missing out.

Hi I was told but it might not be correct, that this will be the last deal they have for half price for a year

And.. telecom are goin to be sellling sky next year too
so when my year is up ill opt for a cheaper broadband and the sky i think or just send the mysky back and have a normal sky

How do you get these deals? Do you just ring Sky and quote that code? Trying to get this for my partners dad before it expires.

He said "he just phoned Sky . They have an advertised deal on their website which is not the best on offer . The best deals are being offered by their marketing agents who call people at random . Sky has no say or influence in that process .

The best we could do is wait for call from a marketing agent or an offer by mail . This may come tomorrow or in the next month - its anyones guess .The Sky rep. I spoke to said if we had the Sky dish aerial and the MySky package we could get all the regular channels and Freeview . The reception though not in HD would still be very good ."

How do you get the cheapo deal? Preferably the one with the Mysky mentioned earlier. Is there another number to ring other than Sky?

Cheers!

I had problems with that as well , and it depends entirely who you get on the phone after trying a couple of time we got put through to sales/marketing dept and they were the ones which gave us the good mysky/halfprice 12mnth rental. I suggest when you ring ask for the sales/marketing department, still need to quote the code though.

Thanks

can you guys read??

Hi Geeks,

Thank you very much for the above information. I rang the number as suggested: 0800 112 396 (ask for Alison: she was awesome!).

It took a few tries to get through -- the first few times I would hear silence and then a dial tone. On my fourth attempt I received the following deal:

MySKY+ decoder: $10 per month (half-price).

SKY Basic: $23.83 per month (half-price).

SKYwatch Magazine: FREE

Installation: FREE

MySKY "joining fee:" $25

The above deal is for 12 months. Caveat emptor: early termination fee up to $376!

NB: SKY had no MySKY HDi boxes available (half-price @ $7.50 per month). The only difference is MySKY+ has an additional 30 hours recording time.

I hope my summary helps out any others considering the deal we geeks received.

Just be aware that the half price deal may only be for houses that have an existing Sky dish on the roof.
The free install bascially means that you don't pay for the tech to come out and put in the MySkyHDI box and connect the existing satellite cable and configure it.
If there's no Sky dish on the house then they may charge an installation fee.

Nah, I signed up yesterday no sky dish - just the $25 install fee for the sky+ thingy - they don't do the sky HDI decoder at the call centre, only sky plus or the real basic one.

Hmmm well the installer that came and did my half price deal install wouldn't even run another cable from the satellite since the tv wasn't in the same place any more.
I had to make one myself!
