That was quick! Apparently the Sony Ericsson K700 is also coming in a couple of months (according to your post), that is one to look at too.

Its a nice Vodafone Live handset but really its not much different than a gx20.

Bluetooth is only for headsets and carkits - wont synch with PDA or lappy etc as this is disabled.

Has IR for modem only so wont beam pictures etc.

Has no email client so cant pop your email.

Has a great 1 megapixal camera, great pictures and does Vid as well.

Has a bigger front panel.

A large main screen and is one of the best displays Ive seen.

$1299.00 (incl. GST)*

Forget it - better value money phones around like the sony ericsson z600 which does everything - bluetooth, email, pitures etc.

Value for money 4 out 10
ease of use 8 out 10

see

see http://www.vodafone.co.nz/mobiles/gen/mobile_details_sharp_gx30.jsp?hd=foryou&st=mobiles

thats my personal view.

What usually happens is the older model the gx20 will more than likely get discounted to move stock and make way for the new flagship model.

The gx20 is a nice phone and if it comes down 2 - 3 hundy that would be a real bargin.

Well just have to wait and see what the Retail stores do.

I have owned the GX30 for 5 weeks and it is very different to the GX20 one of those I have to, the difference is, new cable fittings, battery, speaker is on the front not the back, the camera is better, it has the mp3, memory card, better to use, 1 mil pixels, better infrared conection & it is bigger, so sorry do not agree with the comments.

Rich guy, I hate when people can afford to upgrade their phone every couple of months

Jeez this is now only $999, that sure dropped quickly.

I see the N6230 is now available for $999 aswell. Definately confirms that i'll wait for the K700, it's rumoured to be only about $800.

Bearing in mind that the T610 is now available for ~$550, would the K700 really be worth any more than $800?

I think the K700 will be my next handset, but I don't expect to buy one until they're nearer to $600 (unless I have some sort of accident with my T610).

Sure but I'm using a 4 yr old motorola, definately time for an upgrade.

BTW I've seen the T630 for around $600 and that only just came out. I think this is related to the fact that vodafone stores are not selling them allowing other companies to get them much cheaper (eg: import them themselves rather than through VF).

Hopefully the K700 will be less than $800 soon after it comes out.

Hi There!

Just bought a GX30 and am trying to connect to my PC via Infrared.
The Infrared device is working but my Win 2000 is not reading the GX30 properly for data transfer.

When I open the software, there is no data available.

I've used the other drivers from the disk, which work, but I now have the GX30 being identified as a "Modem" which doesn't seem to help at all!

Can anyone give me some clues to what I can do to get the infrared up and running?

Perhaps an .inf file for Win 2000???

Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers.

As mobile guy said above, i think the GX30 only has IR for modem, you can't trasfer data. You might want to check this.

Well the GX30 comes with a PC Software package which allows you to transfer accross pics, midi's, sms and also is able to pc-sync your contact list. This option is available with either UBS or infrared connection but the USB cable costs $89 so I was just trying to use what I had.

(On phone see menu: 9-5-3)

I have just bought a SD card reader so I think that in the mean time I'll just tranfer the data accross through that.

Cheers anyway Peteremcc. :-)

Sorry Bud,

The only way to grab games is either off wap or via vodafone live. You can't send or transfer via SD card. :-(
Here's a great wap site.

http://www.tagtag.com/supermak

Look for Spruce Blocks (From Main page go: THA GOOD STUFF->GAMEZ LINKZ->SPRUCE GAMEZ), it's a great free tetris game!!!

Site also has great free ringtones!!!

Hope it works for you! :-)
