Santa purchased a couple of motorolas for xmas. Same phone in theory but in practice slightly different packaging for some reason and date of manufacture a few months apart. Need some way to check there is no difference. Tried http://www.imei.info/ but that reports incorrect basic stuff like memory so obviously not trustworthy.

Are there better sources for detailed phone info based on serial?

imei.info is using TAC 6, it's old and useless now. You can check your IMEI number at https://imeidata.net
Or can check your Motorola warranty information: https://imeidata.net/warranty/motorola
It might help.

Hmm. That site provided less information than the one I linked.

There is an official lookup here (under don't know) but I get no results for my IMEI's for some reason. https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/
