I'm ripping into Fring but I'm keen to try anything else any ideas ?

It really depends what OS are you using and what networks do you need to connect to. Fring is a good product and good if you want to use Skype.

I have a Windows Mobile device and use Fring. Very good client - great for Twitter.

Hey people,

I have just been doing a little reading regarding the Fring software, and thought FREE CALLS, wowee, I proceeded to go to the download page, and then there was my problem, I am currently Orange service for my mobile phone, but on the selection page, I noticed that one of muy other phones, is an Orange SPVE200, but that was not on the selection page, there was however another option called OTHER, any idea if this would work in my Orange SPVE200. It would be ideal for me to be able to have FREE CALLS

Fring provides "free" calls via Skype and SIP. Of course to call outside Skype or SIP you will need an account with a provider and the calls are not free.

Also the calls are not completely "free" because you must have a data plan. In some countries a data plan is limited and such "calls" would end up costing - if not the data plan monthly fee, at least the data usage, which in a casual data plan or roaming can be really expensive.

Fring should works on any Windows Mobile Smartphone or Pocket PC device running at least Windows Mobile 5.0.

I thank you for the information, but thinking about it, I realised that the catch would be something like a data plan or monthly account, but the answer has solved my thoughts, cheers
