I have a Sanyo 7400 mobile and I would like to transfer a small vidoe I have on my PC to my Sanyo!
Does anyone know if this can be done at all???

I have had some success with this. The video needs to be converted to 3gp first.

You need to download Nokia Multimedia Player v1.1

Here http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,8764,42291,00.html

1. Install player.
2. Launch player. Open yr video file (avi or mpg).
3. Press File -> Save as
4. Enter filename of your 3gp file, and choose resolution and size limit: try various settings (see *note below)
5. Click Save. The video will be converted.
6. Rename converted file to .mp4 and use the focus tool to upload it

When using the sprint focus upload tool, don't enter your phone number in the text box, just enter 0000000000.
The tool will then provide a Url, go to that URL on your wap phone (right soft key -> Go to URL.... -> address), and the file will be downloaded to your phone, it will be saved under downloads->Videos.

*Don't forget that you are charged 5c per kb for content outside of the xtra menu, so size limit is an important consideration

Sorry AndyB, I'm trying to use the focus tool but i keep getting the following message.....
Status:

ERROR! Focus can only accept the following file types:

JPG | JPEG | PNG | QCP | MID

Please go back and try again.

any suggestions?

Did you go to http://www.sprintusers.com/focus/

As it accepts the following formats.......

Supported Media Formats
jpg | jpeg | png | qcp | mid | m4a | mp4

The only things I can think of, is that you either haven't renamed the file to .mp4, or you have used the "resize jpg for handset" option, you don't need to do that.

Give it another bash and let me know how you get on.

Hi AndyB, I just got it to work now hahahaha, When I renamed the file I had it as .mp4.3pg
my mistake, it worked brilliantlly thanks, My next question I suppose is. do you know how to add audio to video as my movie is silent so as a ringer its not good

re step 6

6. Rename converted file to .mp4 and use the focus tool to upload it

This should be "change the file type to .mp4", not rename, ie make sure you are changing the file type properly, not just putting .mp4 on the end of the file name.

You have to go into Tools --> Folder Options, click the View tab, uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types", then click OK. Erase the current file extension on the file you want and change it to "mp4". Be sure to go into Folder Options and recheck the option.

Haven't had time to figure out the audio bit yet.
On option I had thought about is using a video making software, like Movie maker or something similar and creating an mpeg.

You could probably import your original video, as I doubt you could import .3gp or a .mp4.

You could then import a ringer ie .mid, .mp3 or .wav, save the video as a mpeg, then use the Nokia software to convert it to .3pg, and follow the same process.

It would probably make a rather large file though.

One idea to reduce this down would be to extract the individual frames from the video as jpgs or gifs before importing it into the movie maker, and delete every 2nd, or 3rd one, until you get a size that is acceptable. (I have installed some software at home which does this but can't remember the name)

I've found a few programmes that might add the audio to the original video file, ones called
DubIt Audio Editor and the other is movie audio replacer. i'll give those a go tonight and let you know, thanks for all your help tho

or you could just grab the software and a cable from PCCARDs NZ... not worth it if your only going to do this once or twice, but if your planning on doing it quite a bit, thats the solution...
