Hi I have a mobile phone that i want to unlock (purchased overseas) I have seen lots of sites that offer to unlock it for a couple of bucks yet in NZ they charge $50.00

Do these services on line work ?

Does anyone have experience of them.

Do not want to spend $50 if I can get the same job for $2,

thanks

Bernard

Depending on the phone, you may be able to do it your self for free. I persoanally do not trust the online unlocking sites, I have not used them though.

I have recently unlocked my LG KU990 Viewty, all I needed was a Data cable and Google.

If you got your mobile overseas then contact the original provider - some give the unlock code for free, some charge a small fee or nothing.

Failing that, I had no problems when I tried to unlock a handset from an online retailer. I don't remember the URL though, so it's up to you...

I used to recommend that users contact FoneFix in Auckland. Not the cheapest but they are the best in my opinoin.
