So I made a real botch up recently.

I've got a Telecom account and figured that I should upgrade my phone to make use of this spanking new 850Mhz XT network.

So I purchased a HTC Hero from Parallel Imported figuring that it would be ok. Anyway turns out that's not a very good idea at all.

I've now got a beautiful phone that does not work on the Telecom network and so my fancy new mobile is just a digital tease.

Just thought I'd let you know. How rubbish of me. Bah!

That device is 850/900/1800/1900 MHz 2G and 2100MHz 3G... Telecom is 850MHz 3G so the device is not compatible at all.

You might get some 2100 MHz 3G Telecom XT around but those are only for performance (infill) purposes and are not the "main" network.

In other words: get a device that is 850MHz 3G.

You're right big bean. It works on 2100 3G but not 850 3G.

Not very good at all. Thanks for explanation. :)

Always pays to check the phone compatibility site, it will tell you whether your phone is likely to work...
