hi
at present i am using Motorola C210 CDMA in India.
I would like to change the handset to Nokia 6255,
but Tata Indicom service provider is not allowing to do so.
can i change the ESN of Nokia 6255, and replace its ESN with
that of present Motorola CDMA i am using.

will it work.
from where can i download the software to change ESN of Nokia 6255 CDMA.

can any one help pls..

Hi there, what it looks like you are asking is highly unusual, and not normally a legitimate thing to do.

If you aquired the handset legitimately, you could just be wanting an "ESN Change" which is quick and easy (change your phone number from one ESN number to another). Please ring your carrier and say "I want to change my phone number to a different ESN number"

If you got the handset overseas, or it is not legitimate, then you are out of luck, ESNs are pretty much hard-coded to a handset, and there is, as far as I know, no legitimate reason to change a particular handsets ESN number (which i think may also be tied to other serial or identifying numbers within the handset to prevent 'cloning' etc)

yes you are right it is not it is not legitimate, cause service provider is not allowing to change the handset, other than they provide.

so i want to change the handset without informing the service provider.

is it possible to do so...change ESN of Nokia 6255 CDMA..

Cannot be done. Please hand the handset in to the nearest agent of your service provider.
We cannot provide information on dealing with non-legitmate handsets sorry.

Besides, with CDMA, this is very hard/impossible to do.

I am now locking this thread. Topics on non-legitimate hardware/software do not belong on Geekzone.
