Could someone/anyone let me know if they find a way to use the 700w as a wireless modem. Typical for Verizon, they disabled it and being that is is WM5, the work arounds from the 6600 and i730 do not work.

check out pdanet from junefabrics.com - though i'm not sure if they will have a version compatible with the 700w just yet.

I must preface this with the info that I am looking at this from the corporate connectivity perspective. I am comparing Exchange OMA vs. Goodlink at this time. That being said, Treo in general blows away Blackberry. The native Outlook client is much stronger than the versamail client from the 650. Goodlink is above and beyond a better mail solution than BES or OMA.

The keyboard is a bit easier to use than the 650. EVDO is critical!!

My initial impression for my users is that for a pure mail device, (which is what we really utilize them for) we are going to wait on the 700p and continue to run Goodlink. The Palm interface is much better in its simplicity for the average non-IT user. The WM interface results in more clicks/menus to do similar operations.

In terms of other WM devices. I do prefer the 700w to the 6600 or the i730, but that is a design preference more than anything else.

I am disappointed in the screen resolution downgrade from the 650. 320x320 down to 240x240.

Bluetooth headset works MUCH better on the 700w from the 650.

For myself as an experienced technical person that would actual use WiFi and the RDP client, the 700w is a solid device. It is a good blend to size and function. The 6600 has a bigger screen but is tough device to carry in a pocket.

Hotsync is more stable that ActiveSync.

If I can get the Wireless Modem to work, it would be the complete device for my own use.

As for synchronisation, you say OMA - do you mean Exchange ActiveSync or simply OMA (which is the mobile web interface)?

Sorry, Exchange ActiveSync, have not looked at the mobile web interface.
