With todays featured and expensive phones ....  how do you use it .... to prevent it going offboard, try and make a compromise and select maybe 4 or 5 things.

For me.
Basic text and call.
Calendar, clocks.
(yep pretty boring :D )

Web email at the hotel (only away from home, overseas or NZ).
Offline GPS as I travel abroad regularly (only away from home, overseas or NZ).
Music (overseas on flight) as I use no frills airlines.  But generally don't use this.

I must be out of date then.

I know this is a geeky forum, but do people in general check emails and the web on the phone while they are at home rather than using a laptop or a desktop?  I don't use that stuff unless I am overseas so I check the news, the weather and my email.

At home, I am just a call / text, clock, calendar person syncing with MS Outlook.  But I don't use email while I am at home.

Galaxy S2, in rough order of use:

Nearly equivalent and frequent time spent daily using Push email - RSS news - gaming (some phone gaming, some emulator gaming) - browsing - music - SNS stuff like Facebook/Twitter

Less time but still daily - camera/video - using reference material (mostly drugdoses for children) - youtube

Variable activities (a few times a week) - using TV Out (predominantly for emulator gaming and watching video, but occasionally browsing also with bluetooth keyboard and mouse), GPS, document viewing/editing, tethering my tablet or other devices to the phones internet connection

Myriad other things, but these would make up the largest chunks of time.

....oh, forgot to mention telephony functions: daily but represents an extreme minority of use :)
