I've been using the 6600 for a few years, just got a 3250, put the sim card in, didn't get any SMS, wasn't expecting any of course.

But when my battery ran out, I had to use a friend's motorola temporarily, put my sim card in and I suddenly got 15 new SMSs that I never got on my other nokias, they were from december 2005 til april 2006.

So why did that motorola get those late txts to come through, but none of the nokias did? I'm really stumped

SMS messages are not saved on the network for that long (max 5 days) so they have not been sent from the network

They would of been on the SIM as unread SMS

stored on the sim? I didn't know sim could store sms. Why did they only show up on the motorola and none of the nokias?

Yes SIMs can store SMS and names and numbers

oh thats right, my first ericsson could store 20 txts on the sim, but none of my nokias even gave me that option, forgot all about it.

question is, why did only a few random messages save on the sim and not received on my phone? they're spread out over 10 months, so it's a random selection

Many Nokia phones have a setting on which memory to use .. You can select Phone / SIM memory for contacts and another option for Phone / SIM SMS messages.. Have a look in message settings and see what you have selected

That is actually incredibly weird.. Me being me the first thing that springs to mind is a firmware issue/fault etc, although, do other people use your phone or is it just you? People playing with settings and not wanting to open your SMS messages would quite possibly answer your question.

none of my nokias have given me that option. For the ones with memory card, it's either phone or card memory. Ones without memory card don't give me an option, just goes straight to the phone. Only that old old ericsson gave me the choice, I thought all phones would

I'm guessing it was a firmware issue with my phone storing random txts on the sim. I always had problems with my inbox
