What phones come with a stylus ?

I need to get a phone for my wife who has quite bad hands, she gets on very well with my Nokia 5800 which is a resistive touch screen with a stylus .. problem was techie doofus here switched her to Telecom under the assumption the Nokia worked on it (ie I shoved my Telecom SIM into it and it worked fine .. at home ... there are a few/some/many places about that use a frequency the Nokia can't see, like Henderson mall).

So can anyone recommend a touchscreen phone that comes with a stylus (preferably a stylus that slots into the phone) and works on Telecom.

You can buy a stylus for any capacitive display for about $2 from deal extreme, and they work well. Does have quite a thick tip though, so not sure if you can buy one with a thinner tip.

Ewww. Wacom digitiser FTW. The 'stylus' in the Note 2 is deeply integrated into the system, has ~1000 levels of pressure sensitivity, and has a tip you can actually use to do stuff (honestly what is the point of a fat-tipped stylus?).

To the OP: Has she tried phones without a stylus? Most of us get on fine these days without them - does she have some specific use-case scenario, or is she maybe hung up on them for no particular reason?

It is very good for things like suduko, or getting more accuracy than you can get from your finger. I find them really good, and it is soft to the screen.

Sure the note 2 has a wacom stylus, with all the pressure settings etc, and I have got a wacon on my desktop. But I can't really see the point of that sort of accuracy on a phone/ tiny tablet, especially the pressure side of things. I think it is still early days for that technology on a tablet, as character recognition is still quite slow. I hope apple may advance that side of things like they did with touch screen, as stylus integration is still quite clunky.

How much time have you spent using a Note 2?

I have spent quite a bit of time, as it was between that and the s3 for me. I found the note 2 too big to be considered a phone, and the pen functionality was just too gimmicky for me and quite laggy for converting writing to text. I didn't think I would use the pen enough, especially when you also have speech recognition, which is lot faster, and the pen interface just felt too clunky and not natural enough to me. Others may feel differently. The OP was asking for a phone and not a tablet. Writing to text is one area that I think there will be huge improvements, and a decent wacom stylus on a decent size tablet, like the ipad4 would be a device I would be very interested in, especially for drawing.
