Have just used wife's einfo sourced s7 edge in japan. Data sim in slot 2 (hybrid) and spark sim in slot 1. Slot 1 changed to 3g only. Worked flawlessly. Maybe fiddle with the slot order of the sims. Now slightly wish i waited for a dual sim s8+.

By "data sim in slot 1" you mean a sim bought in japan for data use only?.  Do you notice any 4G data issues in NZ on spark?  thanks.

I appreciate all comments made on this topic.

Phone lost network connection 3x on Wed/Thurs, needed restart to reconnect.  Took it back to einfo who installed a new ROM (NZ but not Spark specific).  Since then phone seems a lot better, consistently on 4G/4G+ with no dropouts.  Not sure what ROM was on it but may have not been NZ.  Phone is still dual sim capable for now.  Thanks.

There will be no official NZ ROM for this handset if not retailed by any of the NZ carriers

The G935F NZ firmwares (TNZ/VNZ/NZC) are all able to be flashed via Odin on to the G935FD handset and dual SIM capability is retained. Also works for the non-edge G930F firmwares to 930FD handsets.
