Quote:
**** When you hear and see people from the GSM camp on the news and in the paper talking about EV-DO they say that "people do not need that sort of speed" and that is “not about speed.”, and on forums and news groups people say it is "about the service not the speed". Then you find out that have plans to roll out HSPDA over WCDMA. Then suddenly Speed is important. I guess no matter that Telecom do it will be wrong. And no matter what Vodafone do will be the best. ****

Service is great Except when service does not serve..

If Vodafone's Shaky GPRS service and terribly written LIVE! portal is anything to go by, I think the choice is quite obviously Telecom. You can access the WHOLE WEB on the harrier. Nuff said :-)

GSM is a great network but it's starting to get quite dated. I also wonder why the voice quality and GPRS reliability & speed overseas is so good compared to here?

How do you know Bunty? Do you work for Telecom or something?

The Sanyo 7400 arrives in NZ on the 6th December (Monday) and I get mine on the 8th :)

There are going to be some really cool other plans and services that telecom is bringing out to so keep a close eye out. Oh push to talk aka PTT will be available to ALL prepaid customers in June 2005. It will be available to contact phones much before this date.

Also TV on your mobile will be available after PTT and video messaging, this is going to be an awesome service and I have seen it in action and its HOT. Also expect some new voice prepaid plans in February and also EVERYONES jet stream is going to be bumped up to 2mbit.

Hi,

The Sanyo 7400 will be TV compatible it is also GPS compatible (like you have in your car) the tv gps and PTT will be all coming out after June. By this time there may be other handsets that you can do these features on but the Sanyo 7400 is the ONLY one that i know of that TNZ is bringing for now.

For a preview check out www.mobitv.com this is what the USA version of mobile tv is like and TNZ will have a VERY similar service to this one.

Thanks Daniel

The TV service sounds like it will be fantastic, but only if the price is reasonable. I will be watching with interest.
