the secret is to switch from 021 to 029 - then vodafone will do a reditrect of calls
then on 029 you turn your account into prepay, and add a voice message saying you've gone 027

pretty soon you have 3 phone numbers, but you can be contacted (eventuall) on any of them.

unfortunately, switching back to 021 they don't let you reconnect your old number.
vodafone are the most inflexible when it comes to accounts and numbers.

I would assume thats in the name of trying to keep the customer from moving in the first place?

Telecom wouldnt dare try it - TUANZ and the general populace would crucify them. (True... on a cross, real nails and everything I bet)

The US only had number portability because the FCC forces them to legally. They are also charging all of their customers 'compliance' fees and they blame it on compliance costs.

Also, if you take a look at Telecom's mobile FAQ pages they say that they are "working on a solution," of course, then you look at the last time that page was updated...

Why are we worried about MNP, When you can't even port your homeline number, There is awesome competeion in mobile with Telecom and vodafone and I feel this is not needed, Start with homeline and then move to mobile.
