josephhinvest: Have you considered a second hand iPhone with Assistive Access.

Cheers,
Joseph

Not a bad idea, thanks.
If the phone that I’ve ordered doesn’t work out, I might give it a go.
Does it exist for the Android platform too?

Very likely that some of the manufacturer modified OS’s go a bit further.
I have a 90 year old grandmother that has a dumb phone. But is very comfortable on her iPad, in saying that the more the device is capable of the more potential complexity and issue it opens up.

I had the kids up visiting her just yesterday and she had somehow turned off the local network access to Netflix so wasn’t able to chromecast it. Imagine she turns off cellular or goes into airplane mode…

I really like the look of some of these phones specifically designed to be easy to use.

nztim: Make sure it is VoLtE compliant, I was never able to get an answer out of bigbuttons.co.nz

I've just got an email from them saying their phones are 46 VoLTE compatible.

What's 31st March? As far as I know 3G is being switched off end of this year -- has this changed?

Oh, I just read that. Sorry, wasn’t aware that it had been moved from 31 March to 31 Dec.

Thanks for the unlock....

Mother in law is becoming increasingly confused by her Smartphone. We've reduced the notifications and removed apps but it is becoming more trouble than it is worth. When it makes any noise, she unlocks it, gets confused and rings the wife or someone else based upon things like the last SMS received.

We really love the ability to track her with Google Maps though so a feature phone will be a compromise.

Any ideas?

Anyone using this? https://www.olitech.com.au/easyflip2
