sbiddle: I don't think there is a best OS out of all. All 3 have strong points and bad points to them depending on your requirements.
If you want email the Blackberry is best by far.
If you want VoIP Symbian for example is the only OS to have a built in SIP stack and VoIP client that integrates fully with the call list. This means you can use VoIP over WiFi or 3G transparently without requiring any other apps.
If you want a large number of apps and games then the iPhone is miles ahead..

I'd like to echo the sentiments posted above too - nice to see a rational discussion of the OS environs going on here, rather than the typical degeneration into flaming whichever OS isn't to your liking... The thread seems to be attracting quite a few posters with experience in multiple operating systems, which I don't often see...
