I can't give any specifics, but how old are those Vodafone SIM you have? Tried getting a brand new one from the store to test and see if it works?

If your referring to my W531.  My SIM is about 10 years old.  The guy next to me has a Bellsouth one but I checked it just now with our receptionists fone and her SIM is about 12 months old.  All say "limited Service" so I don't think it's the SIM as the 2D ones work fine..

the phone is 2 months old. (3month warranty)
the sim from VF is 4 months old. (never been topped up. only activated. and deactivated acording to them. which they said they fixed.)
the 2d sim is about 2 years old. and ive tried these sims in other fones. each works perfect.

so u think the VF sim could be faulty or a problem with the activation without putting money on it for 4 months?

Have you thought about contacting the company that made your handset for support?

No the issue is not with activation of the SIM or it would not work full stop
