tardtasticx: Yep thats correct. Most places on the internet refer to it as the Galaxy 3, but the 580 its its true name. http://www.samsung.com/nz/consumer/mobile-phone/mobile-phone/smartphone/GT-I5800DKAVNZ/index.idx?pag...=

A really good phone for its price.

How does the GPS work on the Samsung?

The inbuilt GPS is used to find your location and track as you move, and I think it downloads maps as the phone needs them, over wifi or 3G. You could probably get 3rd party hacks/apps to have offline maps that wont use data but I haven't researched this in the past.

Right, ok thanks. So I'm guessing if you took one overseas and didn't have any data roaming then it probably wouldn't work I'm guessing? Unless you were possibly near wifi?
Has anybody got 'push' email on their samsung i5800?

I see the Samsung 580 is no longer on the vodafone website, anybody know if they're bringing out a replacement or similar priced model?
