Yes I would recommend Opera, but go to the Opera website and download Opera 10 for S60. I think it is a better version than Opera mini.
I am going to load the reader (viewer) version of Quick Office. I don't think I will bother to use the phone to create or edit documents so have no need for the full version. My Palm TX is much better for this type of work, especially since I have an infra red folding keyboard for it.
There are plenty of apps on the OVi site plus other various apps as well. Some are a bit gimicky.

Something I dislike: The buttons aren't very well separated, I find it hard to hit the right button occasionally.
When I first purchased it, the slide rattled really badly when it was on vibrate, the vibrate was actually louder than the beep. But after carrying it with me when I've been working at the beach, the black sand has ground down something inside it & it is now nice and quiet.
I haven't had significant issues with my screen outside, I did when I first got it but I turned the light sensor all the way up and it seems to have solved the issue.
The camera works well, though I have just updated the firmware & it seems I can now not turn the flash off when it's dark even though there is a menu option for this.
FM transmitter is pretty good, though can be a bit temperamental, ie, I can get static, but i tap the phone on the side of the gear stick (lovingly, honest!) and it goes clear.
Maybe I just own a dud. I still like it, however it is my first smart phone so I am relatively naive about most things.
