Thanks to Apple's full ownership of the product and design choices: iPhone4S not only has a dual-core CPU but also has dual-core graphics which comprehensively outperfoms all Android phones but more importantly
You haven't really quoted a link, the Nexus Prime and GS2 both have quad core graphics and on any browser that's not the stock, the sunspider tests are a lot better
Unfortunately, since they are two different eco systems, it's hard to compare real world GPU performance. I just wish more IOS and Android games and vice versa came out between both platforms, with benchmarks.
Maybe Quake 3 benchmarks on both would give a good result
Sorry I thought this was common knowledge...http://tiny.cc/le9va. I can only find old references to Quake 3 which put a jailbroken 2008 Gen1/2 iPod Touch at 25FPS and a Galaxy I at around 40, no A4 or A5 based figures though.
When it comes to graphics, Cambridge is good but Oxford is better though, back on-topic, why the Galaxy Nexus (allegedly) drops back to an OMAP4460 with it's (comparatively) choked memory bus and weaker single-core SGX540 is bizarre. Apparently it's due to Exynos compatibility issues - when is a platform, not a platform?
I don't think the SGX540 is a terrible choice as it's main weakness was being paired with single channel ram and having a low clock speed. The OMAP 4460 runs the SGX540 @ 384mhz and has Dual Chanel LPDDR2 memory so will likely perform quite well.
nakedmolerat: Have you considered Motorola RAZR Spyder - available on 1st Nov. Ice cream sandwich update will be available early 2012 for this phone. splashproof, kevlar and alumunium built will make this phone tough as. if you are not in a hurry, you can wait for extensive review by NZtechfreak

looking forward to the review - and maybe not the right place to ask this question but I wanted to know about the XT compatibility for the Razr - from the below I am confused as it says only support for 2100 MHz but not the 850 MHz...
GSM/GPRS Yes Frequencies 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
3G/HSPA Yes Frequencies 1900/2100 Mhz
