I have been using 1st domains up until now and they have been really good, but they there some minor niggles I have are:

No 2fa ect with login

invoices are not pdf

cant auto renew domains

Wondering if anyone has recommendations of companies that do offer these things at similar prices to 1st domains?

obviously DNSSEC etc moving foward would be great, but until the big players are all on board I dont think many others will.

Check out Metaname.  I use them for all my domains.

They have 2FA and auto renew.  Not sure about PDF invoices as I just keep my account topped up as needed.

EDIT: And they do DNSSEC

I also use Metaname for the same reasons mentioned above (2FA, DNSSEC). Then I use Cloudflare to manage all my DNS zones.

When Cloudflare came with DNSSEC I wanted for all my domains. Metaname didn't support the exact same algorithm as Cloudflare. I contacted their support and in less than an hour their DNS was updated to support it. Exceptional service.

Awesome news sounds like we have a winner! Does anyone use their API? sounds like reselling is encouraged if they offer an API.

On a mostly unrelated subject I have had trouble with registering .coms and getting a lot of spam because of 1st domains not offering any obfuscation. I realise this is due to the .nz rules but is there a way around this other than to use a different registrar?

Many people use their API and they have a Sandbox environment too. They have no issues with reselling.

Re: the spam - maybe ask them what can be done. I just have another email address on my domain with additional filtering on which I know many people do.

Also, in-case you still want another vote another vote for Metaname :)

Hmm, I can't remember why I switched from metaname to iwantmyname.. might've been because metaname only had SMS based 2FA at the time but I see they have TOTP now

Also I'm paying a fraction more for my domains with iwantmyname

I've just transferred them all back to metaname 👍
