Just wondering, does the Tivo automatically detect and add new channels to the line up? (re Choice TV starting in a few weeks) or do you need to do a manual scan?
My old DSE freeview box used to find them automatically..hopefully the Tivo is as clever.

Channel information is broadcast in the MHeg5 data stream, which TiVo receives.

Normally TiVo then posts a message advising you that your channel lineup has changed. This used to often automatically delete all existing channel information and force you to do a rescan. Meanwhile if you hadn't looked at your TiVo for a few days you would not get any of your scheduled recordings as you had no channel list.
This may have been linked to reception of multiple versions of channels when scanning, as this was commonly mentioned by those afflicted with this annoying behavior.

It has reportedly been fixed by the recent new firmware update, so I can't say how it reacts now.

Tivo doesn't support MHEG5. I assume you're meaning the EIT table?
