Went to the mytivo.co.nz website and noticed that information about buying tivo has now been removed. So does this mean that NZ won't be getting the newer bigger version?

There websitres support seach form is also broken

Yes, although at that stage they were still being advertised for sale through bond and bond and and noel leemings, or by phoning telecom. They have now removed the purchase information altogether. Not much good if you want to purchase one to use with your home networking package

I noticed in Australia that the Tivo XL 1TB is now selling for $495. A couple of months ago they were around the $700 mark.

I've just started looking for another TiVo for our house - as we're building an outside room that will double as a HT, a second TiVo seemed logical (in that, with the purchase of the home networking kit, we could access material recorded on either on either of the TiVos.

Clearly we missed the boat by a couple of months. After the glut I'm surprised how few are now available on TM, and following the classic laws of supply and demand they're going for top dollar - not unusual for them to fetch over $300 (and as many of these will be Telecom give-aways, represent a handsome profit for the lucky owners!).

Does anyone know of a source of TiVos other than TM), preferably new? I saw the link on an earlier thread to HN selling a 1TB version (for $498) - http://www.harveynorman.com.au/tivo-xl-1tb-digital-personal-video-recorder.html - but haven't seen it anywhere else.

Yeap supply and demand. $300 is still a very good price but you don't know if it is going to be a DOA one, unlike if you buy from a shop where you can take it back. I purchased mine for $360 a few years ago and I thought that was a good price, when telecom where clearing them a few years ago and that one is still going strong. They only went down to $200 when some retailers had sales, but they were normally selling them for $300
