Thanks JJ-- Basicaly I work a ridiculous amount of hours just to make ends meet. I can't watch TV with any regularity as a mum, and I KNOW Maori TV has great programming, but who has the time to go through the other guides and set up manual recordings? My daughter is part Maori, and I want her to learn and be exposed to Te Reo Maori AND I want to watch the really excellent foreign films they have. So, I'm hoping they come to the table for all of these reasons! (Not to mention its just inconvenient for all us Tivoers).
I've had heaps of PMs on this and other forums I've raised it in and I've sent lots to everyone out there trying to get Maori TV to hear our voice on this! They'd be making people very happy if they just did it... Prime seems like a no-win situation (so I have given up on them, especially since there's in my mind Maori TV is a much more important EPG for all of us to have). I am crossing my fingers Maori TV will change their mind on this and soon!

What really gets on my nerves is that this is so trivial. I cannot tell you why they have taken this stance. I don't think much thought has gone into it at all.
I'm taking a wild guess here, but lets assume TiVo have sold a minimum of 5,000 units. I know that is not a huge number when comparing it to the likes of SKY Television. But, with that said, it is still 5,000 New Zealand households. Each of those households probably has at least 2 people. In other households, probably more! That is a lot of people/households/families missing out on, dare I say it, some actual quality programming. They do have some bloody good sports shows and commentators which I enjoy.
So, back to what urks me... Maori Televsion have a strategic goal to "Significantly contribute to te reo and tikanga Māori being increasingly valued and embraced" Found on "About Us" page. http://maoritelevision.com/Default.aspx?tabid=227
