freitasm:maknz: Good riddance.
It's not certain they are closing down. And you say this as it's a bad product, which it is not. Unless you care to expand your two word comment into something with more substance?

It's glorified Freeview. It's not a bad product but serves no great use unless you use Telecom.

joff_nz: Yes, effectively.
Freeview with additional features over your run-of-the-mill Freeview box. What's your point?

Even your suggestion that's only good for Telecom customers is wrong.

It's not "glorified Freeview". It's a very good DVR (Digital Video Recorders). The other equipments (homecast, MagicTV) are very good DVRs as well. They are not Freeview though.
Freeview is just the branding applied to free to air digital broadcast. It's not the brand of any equipment.
As a DVR, TiVo is above the others in many ways, already pointed out: remote scheduling, automatic recording of suggested programs based on user input (thumbs up/down), content transfer over network.
Even your suggestion that's only good for Telecom customers is wrong.
aaron11: I wouldnt be suprised if it went bust lol

What would be fun about then having a product that's nothing other than a doorstop since you'd lose most of the features such as the EPG?
