Freeview is not "being turned off". Freeview *IS* the replacement for analogue FTA TV broadcast.

Im sure you get my drift when they turn the anaglouge tv OFF and freeview is fully operational they goverement was looking at paying towards some new box for house holds that dont have freeview

Can't see any details of that. But on the sky website the pricing options for mysky is
$649 joining fee + $0 per month
or
$99 joining fee + $20 per month
But I don't think with either of those options, you own it. But for $649 I think you should, considering a tivo is just $299 owned.
I believe sky are giving free access to the older generation mysky devices, to selected existing customers who don't have one, which I believe have two tuners like tivo.
