Note that Liam has got his own Trademe listing now that my one expired:

Because he is actually putting it through his business books, and has to pay GST.

Exactly. I do this too, and it's pretty standard practice for IT related work carried out by legitimate businesses who actually pay income tax and GST. I know there are some opportunists that are evading their tax obligations.

Tivo upgrades to operate with the new OzTivo EPG, support and service. Over 400 performed here so far. See: www.hillcrest.net.nz

I think if you're advertising retail  which is the market aimed at you should be doing it GST inclusive and add the GST amount as a separate entry like every other retail transaction.  How may business out there are getting their TiVos  upgraded??  Zero I suspect..   Plus he doest't pay GST you the end user  / purchaser does and he just passes it on to the IRD..

Have to agree. As the target customer is in the retail realm, the price should include GST, for clarity if nothing else. Be clear and up front. Just make it $60 or $65, inclusive of the GST, and be done with it.

For all those that have been asking for it (and with moderator approval - thanks) here is a new topic where those who can provide the upgrade services can post information here.

Please keep it brief, and keep it on topic.

I'll kick the ball off :-

In the Waikato area, Tivo Eprom update, software update and hard drive upgrades.

Hi all, due to other commitments I need to put my service on pause for a few weeks. I will put an announcement here when I'm in a position to resume. In the mean time I'm sure any of the other guys here would be happy to help!
