Technically I think TiVo can just grab it, however it sounds like they want to it to be agreed upon for both Prime and Maori TV.
Technically they cannot grab it, as they are a commercial service and the copyright lawyers would love to test this case.
SKy/Prime and MTS will have an agreement with Freeview for the EPG to be sent out as EIT and MHEG data, nothing more, now given TIVO doesn't use EIT or MHEG for its data, their legal paople will say unless you have an agreement don't use the data.
*Technically* the TIVO software could easily be updated to utilise the MHEG data, and just grab the Prime and Maori TV EPG. Of course, in practice it is unlikely to happen!

jonathan18: Sorry, this may be too off-topic, but is there any way of opening the xmltv xml file in a way that allows one to see the 7-day EPG laid out in a fashion that's usable for a person (as opposed to a PC)? I only have the EIT data on my Vantage STB, and find using the on-line Freeview EPG a hassle - would be great if I could open the XML file in a way so as to see the full EPG laid out in order.
Thanks

alvin: telecom should have done an extensive training on their staff regarding tivo before the launch.. I went to a telecom store and played with tivo, I tried to ask some questions and most of the replies i got was "I don't know because tivo was just launched today.."
quite frustrating...
