DonGould: It is an interesting question. If this is all Hybrid do then the company could be wound up, in which case there's little anyone can do.

I can't see that happening, as I pressume that home networking package would cease to work properly too, along with the EPG, which would mean they would need to refund everyone who puchased one.

Hmmm....

I know Telecom appear to be washing their hands of TiVo. Had a minor issue the last couple of days and noticed the 0800 numbers have gone from the TiVo NZ support website. Rang the 0800mytivo number and just ended up with Telecom's broadband helpdesk. Needless to say other than reading from a script they were of little technical help.

Everything is now referred through to Hybrid in Australia via email (hence the only contact on the TiVo website available is email)

I am sure the service could be run from Australia (EPG, Updates, etc) but as far as it goes IMO it appears TiVo NZ is all but gone.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

I think it is more than the EPG. As far as I can see the Tivo box calls home to Australia at regular intervals and if Hybrid disappeared I think the Tivo will stop. There is something on the system page that seems to indicate that it needs to have its service number in the database and if it cannot verify it will stop.
