It's not the digital imaging this forum was made for but are there any rangefinder nerds out there?

I've just added two rangefinders to my collection and can't wait to give them a good going over when they arrive. I've been scouring the rangefinderforum.com forums for hints and it's looking less likely that i'll be saving for a D700 and more likely that i'll be saving for more classics.

I picked up a Diax Ia and a Nikon S2 with various lenses for both.

Does anyone know of any reputable service enters for old cameras in NZ? Although i'm quite tempted to give the cameras a once over myself to be honest. I'm pretty mechanically minded and know the in's and out's of SLR's... they can't be that different (famous last words?)

I've never tried to develop my own film either but am keen to give that a shot too, anyone able to point me in a good direction for that?

I can see this getting quite ugly on my bank balance... anyone want to buy my much loved but underutilised motorbike? heh

Hi, I have not had a rangefinder in years, my last old cosina is sadly broken and the advent of digital has my Pentax DSLR in regular use instead. But a site I regularly wander over too browse and dribble is CameraQuest which is home to the Voigtlander the last of the reasonably priced rangefinders.

Sadly like the other great Rangefinder brand (Leica) anything you look at instantly kills your bank account.

Enjoy

Cheers
Cyril
