Anyone know of any deals on this locally?

New work will be buying it for me to use.

Do you have an older copy that you can get an upgrade price for it, as the upgrade is a lot cheaper?

Do you need CS5.5 - you can get CS5 for a lot cheaper now and the features added were nothing special. Unless their is something specific you need from CS5.5 i would go with CS5.

Have you seen the subscription editions (month-to-month)?

Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard Subscription Edition (month-to-month) is AUD$: ~150 per month.

You can even sign up for one month, do some work then turn it off then a later turn it back on.

If you look at the price of buying out right it's competitive imo.

+1 i was just going to mention this, also with the release of CS6 expected soon this would be even more beneficial.
