You really don't need more than about 10MP. My professional full frame cameras as 12MP, and my compact camera RX100 is 20MP. I resample it down to 10MP DNG as it's too high, file sizes are too high.

Also don't judge noise at 100% in photoshop, judge it by the print. Sure more pixels has more noise, but resampled down it disappears.
