I don't like Eneloop chargers - they're cheap high power things, roast batteries. My cells last 5 years in flashes at weddings with good Maha chargers, I think I have some going on 8 years old.

BDFL if you want to borrow a C9000 or C801D to have a play with just message me. I don't use them all that often.

If you are traveling to Aus in the near future pop in to an Aldi supermarket. They do an own brand LSD (low self discharge) AA for $6 for a pack of four. That's about 1/4 of NZ retail.

I've had a Camelion charger like this.

For years and it's super fast and reliable.

I'm convinced, and thanks Timmay for the information. I'll order a Maha charger. Any gain from getting Maha AA NiMh 2400/2700 batteries, or the Eneloop 2000's?

I won't get the Maha batteries because we have a load of Eneloops. But will try the charger on loan from Timmmay soon to see which batteries can stay or go...

I use 2500mah PowerEx for my main flashes, but I charge them in the few days leading up to a shoot. For everything else I use eneloop, and if I was buying now I'd buy all eneloop white.

Interested to hear results.

Ordered a C9000 from ecobatteries.co.nz and a 4 Pack of AA 2400, that will do for the camera. I'll also get some Eneloops soon for a second set and everything else here

Dang. I have the C-9000 and a 4 pack of Maha batts, I now see after reading the manual, that as these are new batts that I need to use the Break In mode, which is 39-45 hours.
But daughter needs the camera tomorrow for Photography class. How much charge will be in the new batteries. Enough for a reasonable amount of use? She wont be taking a high number of shots.
