mattwnz: What do people think of the new Canon 760D that canon has released? Looks like some nice features including wifi uploading and HDR Video.

It is pretty rubbish for its price. Nikon/Sony/Olympus/Panasonic has it beat whichever way you look at it.

I wrote a blog post this week about the mystery which is why on earth people keep on buying Canon (though this is specifically aimed at filmmakers):

joker97: Wasn't an attack. My apologies. Take it back if it hurt anyone.

But surely passing judgement of crap performance is a bit premature? I might eat my hat off it does turn out to be crap performance ... But it's a bit like saying who needs 500 hp in an m5 surely will have crap performance off the line with so much wheel spin ... ?

I'm swayed and in awe of the Sony A7s. The MP race doesn't interest me one bit and I'm well aware of playing to strengths etc. Just saying it's a development in a direction that I don't care about.

Its more like a 500 hp muscle car vs a 300 hp Euro or Jap car

Sure in a straight line the muscle car will probably win but take it to a track and the euro/jap car will beat it with ease.

Dynamic range and low noise (basically anything with a modern sony sensor) imho counts more than pure megapixels :)
