Have you considered a bridge camera?  I'd recommend the Panaonic Lumix FZ1000, you can pick them up quite cheaply now.  They have Leica optics, so good glass - 25-400mm equiv. F2.8-4 zoom.  You can start out with it on Programme mode until you get the hang of things and then go fully manual if you want - so a good learning camera.  It also does 4K video well.
