Bit of a bugger I liked that Twitter Client, can anyone suggest a good desktop alternative?

Strange that there is no official Twitter app for Windows. Even though the official Mac app was previously Tweetie, it is odd that nothing has emerged for Windows.

The Twitter token debacle hasn't helped either, but I really struggled to find anything decent besides MetroTwit when I was forced to use Windows. I guess it's back to the website for those users then!

It is the only desktop client that I use.

It's still working at the moment and I'll use it till it stops. A real pity.

People who use windows rt are pretty stuck, because a tablet without twitter is a bit of a paperweight. You would think Microsoft would create some software.

I use Tweetro on my RT tablet.
As for the desktop? TweetDeck.

It's a bit sad, because the windows tablets are pretty good, but very poorly marketed towards the consumer. I mean they allow you to have split screen to run two apps at the same time, which is what samsungs selling point of difference is, but most people wouldn't know windows tablets can do that too. So you can use twitter while watching a video. Don't think apple tablets can do that.

The official Twitter app for Windows RT has been available for a long time now. It's there in the Windows Store.

If you need a really good paid alternative then Tweetium.

The problem is that it will likely stop working within a short period of time when twitter updates their API or something else.

Windows is a proper powerful OS not a blown up phone onto a tablet

That is true, the one downside of that though is that the hardware needs to be more powerful to run it, where there are still only a handful of windows tablets that I would consider . That will obviously change as hardware improves and more tablets run it, and they can get the form factor and battery life to match the ipad. Whereas iOS is reasonably light weight and was designed from the start as a mobile OS, so it's hardware requirements are less.
