I just purchased one myself and sent it to my YouShop address, at that price it is a steal! I'll probably find a lot of use as it as a second screen with my desktop PC (then I can stick a movie/pdf/music/youtube/gmail/whatever on the Chromebook's screen to watch while I work on the main PC)

Am thinking about getting this RAM upgrade (for a total of 10gigs):

Will be quite handy for my habit of browsing with many many tabs at once.

Probably will get an SSD too (to replace the hard drive in the Chromebook) and send it to my YouShop address as well.

Sorta following on from the Youshop thread; grabbed the dimensions from someone who said theyre 38 x 24 x 8cm and shipping weight is 4 lb so YouShop costs should be $31.50. Sub $200 NZD for a basically new Chromebook

Just checked the ebay listing again... I'm amazed it is still selling! :-o

I wonder how many thousands and thousands they had stored up?

Yup, last time I checked back when I did my most recent post they'd still sold thousands and thousands in the past 24hrs, but now it is down to only about a 100 in the past 24hrs (due to the price hike that happened afterwards). Still a decent deal though I reckon.

It arrived today. YouShop got the dimensions wrong and thus overcharged me. It wasn't 33cm x 29cm x 26cm , but is instead 33cm x 28cm x 10cm , so I should have been charged $22 not $60. So I'm bringing this up with them now.

Seems this refurbished deal doesn't give us the 100GB of Google Drive space for two years like buying it new does :-( Or am I wrong about this?

You could be right and wrong I guess. I've heard of others getting their 100 GB after asking a Chrome Ninja. Also remember you can get another 10 GB by signing in with your account on the new Android/iOS Quickoffice app

https://support.google.com/chromebook/answer/2703646?p=driveoffer&rd=1

"The Google Drive storage offer does not apply to used, refurbished, open-box, or pre-owned machines."

Well that sucks :-/

Thanks for the tip however about the QuickOffice app! As I'm already half way through my free 15gigs without even really using Google Drive, and I expect now having a Chromebook I'll be using it a *lot* more, but an extra 10gigs should give me enough breathing room for a while without having to fork out paying for the 100gigs :-)
