Hi.
For the Cyber Monday sale at PBTech this will be -$79.
https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/EXNBKASU00201P/ASUS-C201PA-Education-Chromebook-Off-Lease-A-Grade.

Would this be suitable for someone starting intermediate next year to last them through intermediate?

Thanks

A lot of chromebooks are coming out of support now. My samsung announced that it gets no more updates. Doesnt really worry me since I use it on a disposable google account to look at websites I really dont trust, so if it gets owned no big deal to me. If you are using it on a real google account, to do real work then check how long that model has before end of life.

Its not on the list here https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/6220366?hl=en - perhaps because its an education model or something?

Edit: Whoops - it is -

So useless after 6 months basically.

Avoid.
