Although I would love to order one for myself, it is always better to know the reviews before making any investment.

Power cable? Wouldn't a plug adapter be sufficient?

I prefer not to use plug adapters as it is just another thing to be carried about.

Well my Chromebook arrived today and I must say I am incredibly impressed with it. Of course it's not my main PC but I will use it for in the lounge and lugging around when i need to. I will use the tethering on my phone to connect to the internet when away from home. There are a lot of offline apps to use in any case from email and docs etc. The 100 gb of google drive for two years will be nice.

Ended up costing me $64 postage using Youshop so all up it cost approx NZ$360 and no duty to pay as under the threshold.

Have only used it for a couple of hours so far but at this stage would highly recommend it. The charger is 110 to 240 volts and you can either use an adapter or change the section of power cord from the wall to the charger itself (which I have done

They're still sold out so I guess I'll just have to hold onto my money...

Still, order one now if you want it before Xmas.
I ordered mine when it was sold out last month, then Amazon shipped a Chromebook to me a week later.
So queue up now.

Hi Chromebook owners.

I have thinking about getting a chromebook for the past few weeks. And I was wondering if I can get some advice from the current owners - I am assuming there are a couple on this forum

I already have a desktop computer at home and kinda need a device that i can primarily be web browsing on. I used to use an ipad for most of that previously, but i have handed that down to my sibling.

I was thinking of getting the chromebook along with a nexus 7 (waiting on a new nexus tablet hoping to be released in May). Just wondering if anyone is using such a combo?

Thanks

I have a chromebook and nexus 10.
Never really use the nexus 10, but the chromebook lives in the lounge and I use it daily.

The nexus 7 will have a much better screen than the chromebook, but for for me, the keyboard on the chromebook means anytime I want to do anything other than click on hyperlinks, it is much better to use.

I would question why you would get both devices.

oh..i wanted to get both devices for those times when i cant be bothered carrying the chromebook around.

Another concern for me was that i dont want to be getting the chromebook and 1 month later the new one comes out - since i know the chromebook came out last year oct...it might be due for a refresh sometime soon..

are you guys able to play movies and things on the chromebook without needing to be online?

one of my use cases would be watching movies - from SD card, or flash drives..
